Tenugui – Thread of Desire – From Kitagawa Utamaro’s “Negai no Itoguchi”

This tenugui (Japanese hand towel) features a design inspired by “Negai no Itoguchi”, a masterpiece by Kitagawa Utamaro, one of the most celebrated ukiyo-e artists of the Edo period.
The graceful figure of the woman, drawn with delicate lines and soft colors, embodies a refined beauty—like a thread gently weaving emotions together.

The original artwork is part of the Urakami Sōkyūdō Collection.
